My Creative Space: Sad Sack? No More!

Awhile back, I made a slew of rice bags to keep our little toesies cozy when the weather got cool.  We pop them in the microwave for a few minutes, then tuck them under the covers to banish the cold.  However, in spite of the pretty covers I'd made for them, they were showing signs of  extreme skankiness wear and tear. While most folks would have simply tossed the offending items and started anew, I decided in favor of a little re-upholstery.  (This decision, I'm certain, was directly related to the remembered trauma of having broken a good half-dozen needles the first time around.  Sewing over renegade grains of rice?  Big fun in my book.)

An hour, five outgrown t-shirts, a broken needle, and a rewound bobbin later and everything's shiny and new!  I love me some instant gratification...how's that for a makeover?

  1. I like! I should make something like that for my students, they're always cold, even when I'm hot!

FYI we are a texta free home so no fear of drawings on my son's new chair in that blog post, he knows how precious it is plus we've treated the leather - white leather for a 4th childe, i'm all clued in about that potential disaster.
Have a lovely day, love Posie
