My Creative Space: Stymied.

This jewelry thing has gone viral.  I  hunt for my glasses in the in the middle of the night to jot down fleeting designs, and troll the thrift shops by day for old necklaces to dissect.  But I'm having a rough time bringing my ideas to fruition, for reasons both practical (the old laundry-dishes-groceries song and dance) and transcendental (they work better in my head than they do on the bench block).

There have been a few successes this week, though...

It's interesting for me to be working in a new medium---and to see how my thought process translates to wire and beads.  I'm especially enjoying making my own findings---not being locked into what Michaels has on offer and being able to come up with designs that work with each piece as I go.  (All right, it appeals to the tightwad in me, too...)

Thanks, as always, to Kirsty for hosting!

  2. I think you're churning out some great things! Are you going to sell them or give them to people as presents? Or grow more ears so you can wear them all at once yourself?

Is the viral thing the cause of your green bums?

  3. They look awesome Wendy. I'm loving the midnight inspiration too. I'm very impressed that you can be bothered to get out of bed to look for your glasses and jot your ideas down! It seems to be worth it though. Looking great.

  4. Wendy your new creations are just gorgeous.
And not related to them, but don't you hate that when it doesn't always work out like it does in your head? xo

  11. I can tell when I've been drawing too much because I start using Photoshop in my dreams and I see the world in layers. :) It's tough having ideas and then figuring out how to translate them to something real. Looks like you got some good stuff!

Thanks for taking the time to comment...it makes me feel a little less like I'm talking to myself again.
