Karen
I got up from shiva---the proscribed seven day mourning period---for my sister, Karen, today. Karen was a fighter. (I should know...I'm the one she usually fought with.) But on Saturday, March 5th, she succumbed to the brain cancer she'd fought tooth and nail for two years.
I am grateful beyond measure for the few days we were able to spend together, and for the fences that were mended at her behest. May her memory be for a blessing.

ReplyDeleteOh, Wendy. I'm saying a prayer for Karen right now.
ReplyDeleteI love you! Call me if you need ANYTHING ok?

Amen! Thank you for sharing a little of who Karen was during shivah. I am thankful to have known her even just a little from that! May you find comfort in your grieving. If you need anything, even just to talk---I'm here!

ReplyDeleteWendy, so sorry for your great loss. xo
ReplyDeleteMay her memory be for a blessing. Sending you and your family love and best wishes...
ReplyDeleteOh my... what a way to start into reading your blog :( I am so sorry for your loss, I'd rather say nothing than say the wrong thing. I am sure she was a beautiful, strong, inspiring woman, and even though I do not pray, you and her will be in my thoughts tonight. That big, fat, infectuous smile of hers will be on my face tomorrow, just for the heck of it. Pay it forward.
ReplyDeleteLots of Love,
Steff
