At My House: Yum!

Cool, gray Autumn weather had us inside most of the day, and we found ourselves gravitating toward the kitchen.   An extended-play playdate was fortified with homemade popcorn, and I introduced the kids to that wonder of wonders,  the ice cream float.

We rounded out the afternoon with a batch of pizza (and nary a soul complained about the half-wholewheat crust!)  Shani took particular delight in topping her pie---with a vengeance reserved by most folks for finishing off especially tenacious cockroaches.  If you look closely at the photo below, you'll note that  her hand ---and the spoon--are all but vibrating.  The pizza did not bear up particularly well under her ministrations, but she ate it anyway.  No harm, no foul.

All in all, my favorite kind of day...and I even snuck in a few minutes with my ten-dollar bookend.  (Which, to my infinite dismay, seems to be living up to that unfortunate moniker.)

Make sure to head over to Lou's and see what everyone else is up to...

  1. Does look like 'yum' over there. You didn't explain the ladder.

Is the sewing machine not working? A swift kick, perhaps?

  7. Love the pictures of your chilluns! And that pizza looks amazing, it's always good when the kids have been involved in the making. At least at my place they are so much more inclined to eat it then!! Love your vintage sewing machine post down below and it makes me feel much better about my collection of teapots, which each time have been WAY too cheap to pass up!
    Xoxo Kate
